"As you look through my art you'll probably notice that there are quite a few skulls in my paintings and I often get asked what they mean so I'll try to explain...First off I have just always liked skulls as long as they don't look evil! I think there's a big difference in a plain skull or one that's meant to be 'evil' looking. I use skulls for different puposes; sometime it's just to give a painting an edgier, riskier feel such as a woman who is fully feminine and soft yet strong, spontaneous, and fearless. Other times I use a skull as a reminder of how short and temporary our lives are here on earth and not ignore it so I use the skull as a reminder to live life with purpose and make the most of it! Lastly, is if I paint a skull on a women's chest it ususally is to represent the idea of "dying to self" or being selfless as you think of others first and think of yourself less. Overall, I only use skulls for positive reasons and are never meant as anything negative or evil."--Jennifer
